“I’m just a sucker for pain”
Lil Wayne, “Sucker For Pain”
I’m experiencing intense flashbacks of runners high, thanks to the latest issue of Olympian, published by the Olympic Club in San Francisco. The November feature article, by Max Rausch of Bleacher Report, details my quest to complete the Grand Slam of Ultrarunning, a set of four 100-mile trail races held over a three-month period. This past September, I completed the series in sixth place with an aggregate time of 113:47:11. 19 people completed the Grand Slam in 2016, and only 324 have ever completed it.
Below are some visual highlights from the interview and article. Special thanks to Max Rausch and the Olympic Club for the interest and support.
Great article Phil and congrats on finishing the Grand Slam. Being a runner, (only 5 miles a day) I can really appreciate the discipline it took to complete the slam.
Ill look forward to you hold the winners trophy next year!
